Honey Baked Ham

Ingredients

  • 1 spiral sliced ham (about 11 lbs)
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 4 tbsp melted butter
  • 4 tbsp hot honey
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Lawry's seasoned salt
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1/4 tsp all spice
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

Directions

  • Place the ham flat side down on a roasting rack, and pour 1 cup of orange juice into the bottom of the pan.
  • Bake the ham at 275 F for 12 minutes per pound (an 11 lb ham takes about 90 minutes).
  • Once the ham is finished baking, reserve 3 tbsp of the ham drippings.
  • Combine the sugars, seasoned salt, onion powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, ground ginger, sweet paprika, and all spice. Pat half of the sugar mixture over the ham (with the melted butter and hot honey). Save the other half for the glaze.
  • Broil the ham on high, uncovered, for 5 minutes.
  • For the glaze, in a saucepan combine the other half of the sugar mixture, the reserved drippings, apple cider vinegar, and Dijon mustard. Bring it to a boil, then remove from the heat.
  • Brush the glaze all over the ham and into the crevices, then broil again for 2-3 minutes.
  • Let the ham rest for 10 minutes before serving.
