Condensed Milk Bread

Dough

  • 1 cup (250 ml) warm milk
  • 1/4 cup (75 g) condensed milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp (30 g) sugar
  • 3 1/2 cups (420 g) all-purpose or bread flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp instant yeast (add the yeast before the flour)
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) butter, softened

Coating

  • 2 tbsp (30 g) butter, melted
  • 2 tbsp (30 g) condensed milk

Directions

  • In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, condensed milk, egg, sugar, and instant yeast.
  • Add the flour and salt and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  • Add the softened butter and knead until the dough is smooth, elastic, and no longer sticky, about 10 minutes.
  • Cover and let rise in a warm spot until doubled, about 1 to 1.5 hours (give it more time if your kitchen is cool).
  • Punch down, divide, and shape into rolls or a loaf, then place in a lined or greased pan.
  • Cover and let rise again until puffy, about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Bake at 350F (180C) until golden, about 25-30 minutes.
  • Stir together the melted butter and condensed milk and brush over the warm bread.

Kitchen temperatures vary, so give the dough more time to rise if needed for a fluffy result. Ingredients from the post; the method follows the standard enriched-dough technique. From Foodzizzles (Azeezat Akinola) on Instagram.
