Bacon Jam
- 1 pack bacon
- 1 whole white onion, diced
- Splash of beef broth
- 1-2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- Pinch of salt
Beef
- 1-2 lbs ground beef
- Fat pinch of salt
- 2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp onion powder
To Assemble
- Egg roll wrappers
- American cheese
- Oil, for frying
Directions
- Make the bacon jam: cook down the whole pack of bacon until fully cooked, then remove it, reserving the bacon fat.
- Caramelize the diced onion in the bacon fat. Once golden, add the bacon back in along with a splash of beef broth, the Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt. Cook down until jammy.
- Cook the ground beef, seasoning with salt, pepper, and onion powder.
- Assemble each eggroll: on an egg roll wrapper, layer American cheese, the beef, and a nice spoon of bacon jam. Roll up tightly, sealing the edge.
- Fry until nice and golden brown. Drain and serve.
