Hot Dog Burnt Ends

Ingredients

  • Hot dogs
  • Yellow mustard
  • Your favorite BBQ rub
  • Brown sugar (about 1 spoonful)
  • Your favorite BBQ sauce
  • Pickles, for serving (optional)

Directions

  • Spread yellow mustard all over the hot dogs, then season heavily with your favorite BBQ rub.
  • Grill for about 30 minutes, until nice and toasty.
  • Bring them inside and cut into bite-size chunks.
  • Sprinkle with brown sugar (about a spoonful) and top with your favorite BBQ sauce. Give it a good stir.
  • Return to the grill for about an hour or longer, depending on how tacky and caramelized you like the sauce.
  • Serve with toothpicks, with a pickle on the side.

A party appetizer that disappears fast (make three times as many as you think). Method transcribed from the video. From Allison Jacobsen on Instagram; recipe credit Trent.
