Camembert
- 1 x 250g/9oz round block of Camembert
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1/2 tsp hot sauce (Cholula used here)
- 1/4 tsp chili flakes, or to preference
Bagel Chips
- 2 bagels
- 3 tbsp / 45g butter, melted
- 2 tsp very finely diced fresh parsley
- 1 large clove garlic, finely grated then mashed into a paste
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180C/350F.
- Unwrap the camembert and place it in a small baking dish lined with baking paper (or line the box it came in, or make a tight foil parcel to catch any leakage). If one side is more dipped than the other, place it dip-side-up to keep the honey contained.
- In a small bowl, combine the honey, chili flakes, and hot sauce. Score the top of the camembert in a criss-cross pattern (press gently to create a dip if there isn't one), then drizzle over the honey. Place in the middle of a large baking tray.
- Slice the bagels in half, then into chips about 1/4 inch thick and spread out on the tray. Combine the melted butter with the garlic and parsley and brush over one side of each chip.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the camembert is gooey right through the centre and the chips are golden and crisp. The chips are usually done around 12 minutes and the camembert around 15, so return the camembert alone for the extra few minutes if needed.
- Serve the camembert hot with the garlic-parsley bagel chips for dipping.
A small dish keeps the camembert warmer for longer and catches any leaking honey and cheese. From Chris Collins on Instagram.
